Stephan Bates Obituary

Stephan Christopher Bates passed away unexpectedly on June 6, 2022 at the age of 56.

Stephan was born to late Esco Bates and Constance Bates of Norristown, PA on November 24, 1965. He attended Norristown Area High School. Later he earned a certification in welding

Stephan was a loving son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. His passion and integrity to those he loved was unwavering. There truly wasn’t anything that he wouldn’t do for his family and friends. He constantly made it a point to check in/on people. He showed up when it mattered, had your back, and would defend and stand up for you to ensure you are safe. Because of his huge heart of gold he never hesitated to help.

Because of his mischievous ways as a child his family nickname him "Stimey" after the character on "The Little Rascals”. He loved sports but most fond of basketball and football. He played on the football and basketball team at Norristown high school. He also enjoyed playing billiards. He truly had a profile and style of his own He was the self-proclaimed "world flyest guy" In his own words "you know your boy is fly and fine". He dressed with purpose and poise paying close attention to details to include his accessories. He was a sneakerhead and lover of jewelry. It didn't mean a thing if it didn't bling-bling. His walk was memorable "bigger than life". Stephan was living and enjoying life experimenting and making new memories with the love of his life, fiancée Denise Harp aka Wifey. He always enjoyed the times they spent together, whether it was at an aquarium, having a picnic or appreciating black history visiting historic places in Atlanta. Any time with Denise put a smile on his face and you could see the unconditional love in his eyes for her. They were destined to be together as she was his first girlfriend when they were kids. True love prevailed!

Stephan leaves precious memories to his beloved mother Constance Bates of Norristown; three sisters Karen Bates, Jacqueline Thomas, and (his twin) Stephanie Campbell (Danny) all of Norristown. Three brothers Wendell Bates of Norfolk VA, Esco Bates and Marshall Bates of Norristown. His children Shardae (Tyler) Rauch of Reading, PA, Tanesha Monroe of Saluda, SC, Byeia Johnson and Zoey Paton of Norristown, PA. His beautiful granddaughters Zhane, Zyon, Londyn, Lasiya, Beauty, and Majesty. A host of Aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews that adored him referred him as their favorite uncle.
