Shirley Hamilton Twyman of Willow Grove passed away on June 9, 2022. He was 84 years old. Born in Madison, VA on November 1, 1937, he was the son of the late Sylvester and Mary (Nichols) Twyman.
Shirley was a lifelong resident of Willow Grove. As the owner of paving company, he was a highly skilled concrete and cement worker. Much of his work can be seen throughout Montgomery, Bucks, and Philadelphia counties at many businesses and residential properties. Besides working, he enjoyed old Western movies, watching WWE, cracking jokes, and baking during the holidays. What he loved the most was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers (Sylvester Twyman Jr., Frank Twyman, Gilbert Twyman, John Twyman, and George Twyman) and two sisters (Claire Coleman and Josephine Lowry).
Shirley is survived by his wife Olivia Woodfolk-Twyman, brother James (Tom) Twyman, stepchildren (Barbara Woodfolk, Edward Woodfolk, John Woodfolk, Robin Woodfolk, and Danielle Woodfolk-Florent), niece Vandora Johnson-Veney, granddaughter Victoria Woodfolk-Gonzalez, and many more nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Although we are deeply saddened and heartbroken with the loss of the patriarch of the family, we are truly grateful for the time we were able to spend with Shirley.
The family has chosen not to hold a traditional funeral service however relatives and friends will be invited to a celebration of Shirley’s life at a later date.
