On Monday, March 30, 2020, Army Veteran Richard S Morrissey, Jr. passed away at the age of 31. He was a resident of Beverly, NJ. Richard was born on October 29, 1988 in Willingboro, NJ to Richard and Nancy Morrissey (Grippe) both of whom predeceased Richard. Richard Jr. was honorably discharged after spending 5 years in the Army with the 2nd Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team. He received multiple medals, ribbons, and commendations for his service in Iraq and Afghanistan. Richard enjoyed traveling, backpacking through Europe, meeting people, and making new friends. He valued time spent with family and friends. He was known for his generosity and willingness to help others as shown by his recent organ and tissue donations. Richard is survived by his sisters, Amy (Schuyler) Press (husband Michael), Jennifer (Schuyler) Samulis (husband Peter) and Stephanie Morrissey; as well as nieces Claire Samulis, Emma Samulis and Aubrey Press, nephews Benjamin Samulis and Jake Press, Grandmother Edna Morrissey, and many other loving family members and friends.
