Michael A. Kokoska Loving Father and Brother
Michael Alois Kokoska, 71, native of Sykesville died Tuesday July 27, 2021 in his home in Harleysville PA in his sleep peacefully after a lengthy illness. He was born January 16, 1950, in Dubois, PA, son of the late Alois P. Kokoska and Margaret L. Kokoska.
Mike, also known as Pie, grew up in Sykesville Pa, where he played basketball at Dubois Central High School. He attended Gannon University where he graduated May 1971 with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business Administration and was a member of Tau Kappa Epslon Fraternity. He moved back to St. Mary’s PA July 1971 after the passing of his Father Alois, to help care for his widowed mother Margaret and brother John G. Kokoska.
He began his business career at Airco later named Carbon/Graphite Group, Inc where he was employed for 40 years as an electrode sales manager. Mike was a loving and supportive father to his two children. Mike retired in 2012. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, hunting, golfing, reading, and visiting the local Pub with neighborhood friends and patrons. He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Lansdale Pa. He was also a member of the Eagles Club.
Survivors include one son, Timothy A. Kokoska of Pittsburgh PA; one daughter, Michelle M. Shell and her husband Kenneth of Colorado Springs CO; one sister, Mary M. Terranova and husband Peter of Stevens PA; one brother, John G. Kokoska and wife Helen of Duluth GA and their children Lindsay L. McHale and husband Mike of Memphis TN, Michael J. Kokoska of Thailand, and Margaret L. Kokoska of Duluth GA.
Family and Friends will be received at the church from 9:30 - 10:00 AM followed by Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM on Saturday August 7, 2021 at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Sykesville PA with burial in the church cemetery next to his mother and father.
