Mary Belle Teter of Chalfont, PA died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2023. She was 89.
She was born Aug. 21, 1933 in Reading, PA to Jacob and Mary Emma Searfoss.
She was married to William Henry Teter on Aug. 17, 1957 and celebrated their 62 year anniversary shortly before his passing in 2019.
She was a graduate of West Chester University in Pennsylvania where she studied to be a teacher and trained to be a professional vocalist.
After graduation, she taught elementary education over the span of some 40 years, first for Rochester City Schools in New York and then Central Bucks Schools in Bucks County PA, taking a break between to raise her three boys. She was also a proud member of the choirs for St. Paul's Lutheran and New Britain Baptist churches in Bucks County.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed singing, shopping, needle point, puzzles, traveling and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her two sons and their spouses, Douglas William and Donna Teter, and Shawn Matthew Teter and Karen Henninger, as well as eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry Teter and her son, Brian Jacob Teter.
