Joseph Robert Royds

Joseph “Mickey” Royds passed away peacefully on July 11, 2019 with his Nephew Thomas Palmer by his side.
Joseph was predeceased by his loving wife Anna Royds, Son in Law David Fehskens, Daughter in Law Nancy Royds and Granddaughter Jennifer Labedens. Joseph was also predeceased by his brothers Jerry Royds and Charles “Chickie” Palmer.
Joseph “Mickey” Royds is survived by his loving companion Sandra Palmer and his five children, Ralph Royds, William Royds, Michael Royds, Thomas Royds and Mary Fehskens. He will also be missed greatly by his Daughters in Law Susan Royds, Patrice Smotyrs and Carol Repasz. Joseph was also gifted with eight Grandchildren and their spouses; Neale Royds, Cara and John Weidling, Jason Royds, Jacob Royds, Matthew and Susan Fehskens, Kristina and Matthew Demian and Joseph Royds, as well as seven Great Grandchildren.
Joseph was born and raised in Manayunk, Pennsylvania. At 17, Joseph proudly served his country in the Korean War, as a Corporal in the Army. Earning two medals one for Good Conduct and an Occupation Medal.
After marrying Anna and starting a family, Joseph “Mickey” relocated to Southern California where he began his lifelong career in transportation. Joseph started and retired from Hughes Helicopters/McDonnell Douglas. After retiring, Joseph began a second career in long haul trucking with his wife Anna.
Joseph enjoyed camping, fishing, travelling and spending time with his family. Joe always left you smiling, laughing, and sometimes even shaking your head. He loved tinkering around the house and fixing anything that he could with spit and gum.
After the loss of his beloved wife Anna, Joseph relocated back to Pennsylvania where he developed a long term, loving relationship with Sandra Palmer. Joseph “Mickey” Royds was a loving Uncle to all of his many Nieces and Nephews.
Relatives and friends invited to his visitation on Monday August 5th from 10-11 AM followed by Memorial Service 11 AM at the Raffeo-DiCecco Memorial Home 19 East Germantown Pike, East Norriton
