James J. Stickelmyer ( Papa Stick) a long time resident of Troy, NY drifted peacefully into the arms of Jesus on October 27th 2023 @12:01 a.m.

Born in Rensselaer County NY, he was the son of Alice M. Stickelmyer (Boyle) He was a loving father to; Jaime Stickelmyer, Jennifer Stickelmyer, Ariel Stickelmyer, Shannen Stickelmyer (Pozniakas) and Kayla Stickelmyer and an amazing grandfather with several grandchildren including; Jennifer Stickelmyer (Jaime's Daughter) Brooklynn M. Scott, Avery James Cahn, Jeremiah, Aubree Ellen Skye Cornell and several others.

James had a passion for cooking and he was an amazing chef. He graduated from the C.I.A. ( Culinary Institute of America). He worked at several summer camps, traveling states to perfect his craft. He loved just being there for family and had the biggest heart. We can't forget his love for Pure Leaf Lemon Ice Tea and his love for bingo and scratch off tickets. He has several close friends that will miss him dearly; Jean & Jim Kucharski, Denise & Tara Cetta, Todd Edwards and several others that loved him dearly.
