Diana “Dee” Nancy Osborne
December 3, 1960-June 16, 2021
Diana “Dee” Nancy Osborne, daughter, sister, aunt and dear friend, passed away suddenly on June 16th from natural causes.
Diana was born in Abington, PA and is survived by her father, William J. Osborne, her siblings Joe Osborne, Arlyn Osborne, Ann Braselton, Sue E. Osborne, her aunt Nancy, cousins Joan and Margaret Burri, nieces and nephews, and her many friends that loved her so. She is preceded in death by her mother, Shirley S. Osborne.
She attended Dickinson College and received her BA from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1986. She worked at the UNC Cecil G. Sheps Center from 1990-1996. In 1997, Diana began her impressive career at BASF, including a two-year stay in Mannheim, Germany, working at their corporate headquarters. She became fluent in German and enjoyed her time traveling abroad.
Diana was a gifted pianist, singer and passionate bibliophile. She was a former member of the Choral Society of Durham. She volunteered for the Durham Literacy Council, donated to Durham’s historic Carolina Theater and supported the arts. Diana adored animals and cared for many throughout her life. Her horse Montana and cat Ivy will be adopted by friends.
In 2014, she began a sojourn to Abington, PA, to care for her father and oversee the rebuilding of the family home. She remained deeply connected to her Durham life and would return often to maintain her property and visit friends.
