Cornelius T. Ryan
October 30th, 1949 – June 19th, 2022 (age 72) Cornelius (Neil) T. Ryan peacefully passed away of cancer while surrounded by his family on June 19th, 2022. He was born on October 30th, 1949, to the late Paul A. Ryan and Mary Carol (nee McCarthy).
Neil is survived by his loving wife Carol A. (nee Zintl) of 49 years, their five children, and six grandchildren. He was the devoted father of Alicia C. Ryan-Ives (Tom), Neil Ryan, Jr., Catherine (Cassi) A. Henwood (Alex), Thomas W. Ryan (Khrystyna), and Mary Elizabeth (Beth) Ryan. Affectionately known as Pop Pop, Neil will be tenderly missed by his grandchildren, Tommy Ives (13), Bobby Ives (12), Riley Henwood (3), Will Henwood (1), Sofia Ryan (2), and Luka Ryan (1).
Neil is predeceased by his brother Joseph P. Esq. (Claire), and survived by his siblings Paul A., Jr (Jackie), Maureen (Michael) Fitzpatrick, Patrick (Leslie), Barbara (Daniel) Flynn, James (Leslie), Sean V. M.D (Kelly), and many nieces and nephews.
Neil was educated at Waldron Mercy Academy, St. Joseph’s Prep, and The College of the Holy Cross. He spent most of his career in sales. Above all else, he was passionately dedicated to his family and faith. He was a loving and devoted father, a devout Catholic and man of faith, an avid reader genuinely dedicated to the lifelong pursuit of knowledge, a natural athlete and sports fan, and a coach and mentor to many throughout his life. His wife and children are blessed to carry forward his unwavering love that rooted their family. His humor, wit, and comforting presence will be missed by them dearly.
Relatives and friends are invited to Neil’s visitation on Friday, June 24th from 9 – 10 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church (50 West Walker Road, Wayne, PA 19087). Immediately following the mass everyone is invited to the church hall for fellowship and light refreshments. Interment is private for family.
