IN LOVING MEMORY OF
William W.
Hall, Iii
December 1, 1937 – March 8, 2026
William W. Hall III, of Phoenixville, gently passed away on March 8, 2026. He was 88 years old. Born in West Chester, he was the son of the late Elizabeth (Gale) and William W. Hall, Jr. He is survived by his wife Marian (Hertzog) Hall.
Bill Hall grew up farming - it was in his blood. In his youth, he enjoyed drag racing. He was a self-employed truck driver who "drove more miles backwards than most people drove forwards." Even after his retirement, he was often found working on his trucks and repurposing truck parts. Later in life, he revisited one of his favorite childhood card games, Old Maid, where he enjoyed tricking his opponents into picking the dreaded Old Maid card. His family was very important to him and he left them with a variety of unique memories that will be shared with the generation to come.
Along with his wife he is survived by his sister Ruth Hall Nocella of Hilliard, Ohio; his children, Cheryl Borja of Bowmansville, PA, Beth Shaver of Malvern, PA, William W. Hall IV of Sugarland, Texas, Craig Hall (Silvia) of Beilingin, Germany, and Stacey Deger (Mark) of Phoenixville, PA; his 17 grandchildren, Steven Borja, Laura Brackbill (Bobby), Vincent Borja, Mark Shaver (Katie), Eric Shaver, John Shaver, Monika Steffen (Peter), Krystal Hall, Simeon Deger, Jabez Deger, Cassia Deger, Phoebe "anna" Deger, Zadok Deger, Ira Deger, Titus Deger, Magdalena Deger, and Timothy Deger; and his 15 great-grandchildren: Emma Brackbill, Bennett Brackbill, Emily Shaver, Porter Steffen, Mallory Steffen, Archer Steffen, Coben Hall, Violet Deger, Daisy Deger, Makena Deger, Clyde Deger, Weston Deger, Ilana McCullough, Jack McCullough, and Aurora Deger.
He was preceded in death by his older brothers and sisters: Warren Peck, Walter Peck, Elinor Zaks, Betty Hutchinson, Jane Hall, Margaret Bond, Dottie Park, and Jack Hall.
A private graveside service will be held Friday, March 13th at Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, 490 Boot Rd, West Chester, PA 19380. "Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort…." II Corinthians 1:3
