Walter James Platchek Jr., affectionately known as Skip, passed away peacefully on February 9th, 2024, in Norristown, Pennsylvania, at the age of 67. He was born on February 26th, 1956, in Roxborough, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Walter and Marian (Lewis) Platchek, and he was predeceased by his sister; Lois Herman.
He is survived by his loving children; Brian Platchek (Nicole Christine) and Amy Southwick (James Greer), as well as his beloved grandchildren; Michael Southwick (Caitlin Daley), Brian Platchek Jr. (Brooke Green), Kaitlyn Tyrrell, Nicholas Tyrrelll, Andrew Tyrrell, and Rachel Southwick, his sister; Irene Hendricks and many nieces and nephews.
He had worked at the Container Corporation of America for 25 years.
Skip was a man who enjoyed a bargain and a good time. His outgoing and lively personality made him a joy to be around. He had a zest for life and always knew how to make the most of every moment.
A private ceremony to honor Skip's life will be held for immediate family members.
