Sandra Faye (Elkins) Handley, 76, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family.

Sandra was born on June 16, 1950, in Roderfield, West Virginia, to the late Arthur Elkins and the late Doris Ruth Spratt Elkins. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and caregiver whose greatest joy in life was her family. She deeply loved her children and devoted many of her years to her grandchildren, giving them her time, love, and unwavering presence.

Sandra spent years working with children with special needs, a role that reflected her natural compassion and love for children. When her own children were young, she chose to be a stay-at-home mother, dedicating herself to raising and caring for her family. She was also an active part of her children’s school community, volunteering at Pius X High School while her children attended there.

Sandra is survived by her beloved children, Chris Handley and his wife, Stacey; Mike Handley and his wife, Amanda; Sarah Politano and her husband, Mike; and Scott Handley and his wife, Shana.

She was a loving and devoted grandmother to Cohl, Decklan, Colten, Jaxon, Annabel, Vincent, Emerson, Charli, Ryan, and Zoe. Her grandchildren were a tremendous source of joy in her life, and she devoted many of her later years to being there for them, loving them, supporting them, and making memories they will carry forever.

She is survived by her siblings, Regina Westmoreland, Diana Holbert, Pamela Elkins, Melinda Elkins, and Jeff Snow. She was preceded in death by her siblings Bobbie Elkins, Angela Elkins, and Bryan Elkins, as well as her parents, Arthur and Doris Elkins.

Sandra will be remembered for her compassion, her devotion to her family, and the countless ways she gave of herself to the children and people she cared for. Her greatest legacy is the love she poured into her children and grandchildren.

She was deeply loved, she gave so much of herself to the people she loved, and she will remain forever in the hearts of her family.

Her love was her legacy.
