Roslyn was born on March 27, 1939, in Philadelphia, PA, to Louise and Eugene Coskery. She graduated with a B.S. degree from Duke University in 1961 and earned her M.D. from the Women's Medical College of Philadelphia in 1966. She completed her residency in General and Plastic Surgery at Temple and Penn Hospitals from 1971-1973. Roslyn also attained the prestigious title of F.A.C.S. (Fellow of the American College of Surgeons). In 1973, she became board-certified by the American Board of General Surgery, followed by board certification in Plastic Surgery in 1976. At that time, she was one of the 2% of women in the world holding such accomplishments. Dr. Souser had been on staff at Bryn Mawr Hospital since 1973, beginning her private practice and serving on-call at several hospitals, including Bryn Mawr and West Chester. She later relocated her practice to her home office in Ardmore. During her transition into retirement, she became the first plastic surgeon at Bryn Mawr Skin & Cancer Institute. From 2014 to 2020, she enjoyed many fulfilling years as a traveling consultant. Roz was always eager to help by sharing her remarkable intelligence with those in need. She had a deep love for music and was trained as a classical pianist. She also enjoyed reading, collecting, attending the Philadelphia Orchestra regularly, and nurturing her beloved violets and roses. Roslyn served on the board of the Union League of Philadelphia and had been a member since 1987. Known for her precise surgical skills and exceptional bedside manner, she was cherished by the many patients she assisted. She is survived by her children, Eugene Coskery Souser (Kery) of Philadelphia, and Kenneth Souser III of Syracuse; her siblings, Susan Taylor of Michigan and Jake Craig of Naples; daughter-in-law Carolyn Souser, and grandsons Konrad and Carson Souser of Syracuse. Roslyn was a pioneer ahead of her time, breaking many glass ceilings, and she will be deeply missed. Service and Interment Private Services Private Services
