Obituary

Remo L. Roggero Obituary It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Remo Luciano Roggero (Pop Pop), age 88, on June 23, 2024, one week after his wife of 62 years passed. Remo is survived by his daughter, Maria G. Brown, and son-in-law Gordon Brown, and their children Alec, Jack, and Steven; his son, Raymond A. Roggero, and daughter-in-law Inga C. Roggero, and their children Raymond and Hunter. He is also survived by his sister Angela Treger. Born on December 12, 1935, in Jersey City, NJ, Remo was the son of the late Annibale and Severina Roggero. Raised in Union City, NJ, Remo "Moose" was a basketball star while at Emerson High School serving as the Team Captain. He was the recipient of countless newspaper articles, trophies, plaques, ad awards and was later in life inducted into the Emerson High School Hall of Fame for his achievements in Basketball. Remo grew up helping in the family business, a meat packing enterprise based in Union City , NJ which was started by his father after emigrating from Italy. Remo carried on the family business for many decades and was a respected figure in the community. Remo married the love of his life, Gloria E. Bachetti, on November 25, 1961, and together they built a warm and loving home in Englewood Cli]s, NJ. Their household was a hub of Italian traditions, filled with laughter, warmth, and countless memories with their two children, Maria and Raymond. In 2004, Remo and Gloria moved to an active adult community in Allentown, NJ, where Remo enjoyed playing pool with neighbors, attending block parties, and celebrating holidays with the neighbors at the clubhouse. The couple also cherished their beach home in Seaside Park, New Jersey, where they spent over two decades creating beautiful summer memories with family and friends. Remo particularly enjoyed relaxing under the gazebo by the bay, reading the newspaper, and watching the boats cruise by. Retiring early at the early age of 57, Remo spent his golden years traveling with Gloria, vacationing with family, and enjoying their beach retreat. He was passionate about fishing, spending time in the woods, and staying current with financial news on his computer. A devoted family man, Remo always made time for his children, often taking the family out crabbing and fishing in Barnegat Bay, building lasting memories that they will cherish forever. His love for life and family was evident in everything he did. Some of the fondest memories were when Remo would attempt to tell a joke but laughed and cried so hard as he told it that he sometimes couldnt get to the punchline. His laugh was infectious and brought everyone great joy. n April 2024, Remo and Gloria moved to Ann's Choice in Warminster, PA, where for a short while found comfort in community and care. His passing leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of family and all who knew him. In accordance with Remo's wishes, the family will hold a celebration of his life later this summer, details to be announced. Remo's legacy of love, laughter, and family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. 'Pop Pop, we will always love you and miss you!'
