Obituary

Joseph A. Scoma, 91, of West Norriton, PA, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026. Born in Norristown, PA, on March 26, 1935, he was the son of the late Anthony and Frances (née Venezia) Scoma and beloved husband of Domenica “Donna” (née Sacco) Scoma for 71 years.

Joe started out working with his father and three brothers in the family business, Scoma Bros. Tires. Thereafter, and throughout his life, he worked in various professions: in construction as a truck driver, in retail at Korvettes Department Store, co-founded a real estate property management company, Montgomery Investments, Inc. with his younger brother, and later as a security guard at office and apartment buildings. He also enjoyed taking on projects around the house, always taking great pride in his home and landscaping.

Along with his wife, Donna, he is survived by his daughter, Sylvia Geosits (Chris) of King of Prussia, his son, Anthony J. Scoma III (Donna) of Conshohocken, three grandchildren, Gina, Nick, and Gianna, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his first born son Anthony J. Scoma II and his brothers, Sal, Gus, and Harry.

Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Monday, May 18, 2026 from 10:00 am to 10:45 am at Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 196 N. Trooper Road, Norristown, PA 19403. Mass will follow at 11:00 am. Entombment will be at St. Patrick Cemetery, 2400 Dekalb Pike, Norristown, PA 19401.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church at the address above.
