John A. Candales Obituary John Candales, a longtime resident of Lititz, PA departed on September 27, 2024 at the age of 71 of natural causes. John was born on March 4, 1953 in Bronx, NY until moving to PA in 1988. John also known as Jessie to many friends and family. John was known for his dedication & leadership as a retired juvenile detention employee, always willing to share his personal life experiences to the youth he helped guide in making better decisions. John was recognized and awarded "Staff person of the year" through The Juvenile Detection Centers Association in 2008. John is survived by his wife, Paula Candales of Lancaster, his adopted daughter, Charity Severt of Columbia, his 3 grandchildren; Yazir, Quentin & Chakiya Brown of Columbia, a great-grandson; Nikko of Columbia, his 4 sisters; Anna, Lanette, June, Dominga, & and his brother, Melvin, also his nieces and nephews all of various areas of NY.
