Jane Cannan Obituary Jane Cannan died on December 27, 2022, at 75 years old. Jane was born in Teaneck, New Jersey, on December 31, 1946, the second of Grace Gormley and Edward Leslie Cannans thirteen children. She grew up in Dallas-Fort Worth and Austin, Texas, and enjoyed drawing, writing, singing, and playing the piano. She also acted in several plays most notably The Innocents, co-starring with her brother, Edward. As an aesthetician and make-up artist on the Philadelphia Main Line (Pour lImage, Goldworks, Jude Plum, and Lin Phan salons), Jane was beloved by her clients for her enthusiasm and knowledge of the latest skincare and wellness trends. She was an advocate for others pursuing their health journeys as a longtime member and leader of Weight Watchers. After her fathers death, she took on the role of caretaker for her mother. Jane loved playing the "Cool Aunt" to her seventeen nieces and nephews always picking out the best birthday cards, staying on top of fashion and pop culture trends, and teaching them all about her favorite musician, Prince. Every Christmas, Janes loved ones anticipated her legendary holiday cards. She used them as a creative outlet to show off her glamour, her cat, or her love of yoga. Jane loved getting decked out for Halloween, spending many years reveling with her friends at the renowned Henri David Ball in Philadelphia; unforgettable costumes included Joan Crawford, Pinhead from Hellraiser, and Linda Blair from The Exorcist. Jane loved participating in iconic and historic events including Live Aid, Hands Across America, the 1989 Womens Equality and Womens Lives March in DC, Pope Francis 2015 visit to Philadelphia, and the 2016 Womens March. Janes family will remember her distinctive laugh, her zest for life, and constant curiosity. Our gatherings will be quieter without her trademark entrance, "Hiiiiiii, how aaaarrreee you?" Jane is survived by siblings Gwynedd, David, Cecilia, Clare, Teresa, Francesca, Alice, Paul, John, and Marc. Jane is predeceased by her mother; Grace Gormley Cannan, her father; Edward Leslie Cannan, her brother; Edward Cannan and her sister; Catherine A. Cannan.
