Jack J. Fanizzi Jr. Obituary Jack J. Fanizzi Jr., 82, passed away on June 24th, 2024. Jack was born in Syracuse, NY to Jack and Sophie (Welch) Fanizzi on December 15, 1941. He attended high school at Jamesville-Dewitt in Dewitt, NY and then graduated from South Broward HS in Hollywood, FL. He proudly served in the United States Air Force for four years as an electronics technician. Jack married Phyllis D. Maguire on September 9, 1967 in Dewitt, NY and they were married for over 56 years. He attended Syracuse University and worked as a business computer repairman and service manager for Unisys Corporation and its predecessor companies, for 36 years. After retiring from Unisys, he worked as a mortgage broker and in related fields for another 12 years. With his spouse he was active in Episcopal Marriage Encounter for 25 years, was a church Vestry member, Treasurer, Lay Reader and Chalice Bearer for a local Episcopal parish. He was active in local Republican politics for nearly two decades serving as treasurer for 14 years. Jack was preceded in death by his father Jack J. Fanizzi Jr. of Syracuse NY and his mother Sophie (Welch) Fanizzi of Rye, NY. He is survived by his wife Phyllis M. Fanizzi, two adult children, two brothers Richard A. and Gary T. Fanizzi and four granddaughters.
