Eugene Feldbruegge Obituary Eugene "Gene" Thomas Feldbruegge, 66 of Norristown, PA passed from this life on June 22, 2023 at Einstein Medical Center Montgomery in Norristown, PA. He was born on March 8,1957 in Wausau, Marathon County, Wisconsin and was the son of the late Duane and Margaret (Bealer) Feldbruegge.
Gene was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, step father, grandfather, step grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle, and great uncle.
Gene graduated from George Washington High School in Philadelphia, PA in 1975. In 9th grade he was in the choir. He was active in track as a shot putter. He was a PE major in his senior year.
He worked for Pizza City, Dennys Pizza and Quastar Tool and Die Manufacturing with his good buddy, Tony Cantore. He learned the trade from Tonys father, Mr. Cantore.
He went to merchant marine school in Piney Point, MD to learn seamanship. He worked on tugboats and later was employed by the Crowley Company in Norfolk, VA., maintaining the position of a tanker man loading and unloading gas, oil, jet fuel and chemicals from shore tanks to barges. In turn, traveling to another port to be loaded back into shore tanks.
He married his first wife Janice in 1980 and they moved to Florida. He worked for SGS as an inspector and eventually achieved a manager role. He and Janice started a family and were blessed with two daughters, Kristina and April. They moved to PA then to NJ with SGS. Gene then moved the family back to PA and opened a cheesesteak take out restaurant in Catasauqua, PA called Zookies. After a few years they moved back to FL where Gene worked as an inspector for Inspectorate and was injured on the job and, unfortunately, causing him to become disabled. The tragic health issue turned out to be a blessing because now he could be a 'stay at home Dad' allowing him to spend time with and take care of his girls.
After the girls were grown and out on their own he moved back to PA where he met Helena. Gene and Helena met in Hatfield, PA at the Main Hotel where they both were participating in a dart and pool league.
They married in 2016. His wife had five children that he cared for like his own. His daughters and step children blessed him with grandchildren and step grandchildren.
He helped his brother Marty with his business. He would fix computers for his friends and family. He was known as the neighborhood Mr. Fix-It. He liked gardening, swimming, arm wrestling, playing darts, playing pool, playing softball, roller skating, playing games on his computer, and he loved his pets. Gene loved sports. He enjoyed watching the Eagles, the Phillies, and the Flyers when he lived in PA. He enjoyed watching the Dolphins, the Marlins, and he bought season tickets for the first year that the Panthers hockey team played in Sunrise, FL.
Throughout the years Genes health had deteriorated and he became bedridden. Helena became his full time caregiver. She was a kind, caring, loving wife. She took very good care of him until his last breath.
Gene is survived by his loving wife and full time caregiver; Helena Goldhorn Feldbruegge, his daughters; Kristina Cerny (Joe), April Feldbruegge (Jeremy). Grandchildren; Madison, Aurora, and Sterling. Step children; William "Billy" Goldhorn (Kaitlyn"Katie"), Rachel Moore (Jimmy), Charlie Goldhorn, Monica Goldhorn (Tracy), Michael Goldhorn. Step grandchildren; Mataya, Dezmone "Dezzy", Lylia"Lily", Logan, Jimmy, Adaline "Addi", Arianna, his sister; Valerie Feldbruegge Pfaff (Mike) and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Along with his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his brothers; Randy and Martin Feldbruegge, his sister; Dawn Feldbruegge Holman and his nephew; Duane Herman Randy Feldbruegge and his beloved dog Buster. Gene will be missed by his family and many friends.
