Elena Spencer Obituary ELENA GEONZON SPENCER August 13, 1942 February 18, 2022 (Age 79) Elena Geonzon Spencer, age 79, of Plymouth Meeting, PA gained her angel wings on February 18, 2022. She was born on August 13, 1942 in Tacloban City, Leyte, Philippines to the late Aquilino R. Geonzon and Eulalia Bartiquin Geonzon. Elena is survived by her only child, daughter, Maria Veneranda Patti, nee Spencer (William James Patti) of Blue Bell, PA, who is mother to Elenas grandchildren, Rebecca Ashley Patti and Alexander James Patti; Boyds son from prior marriage, Stephen Boyd Spencer (Susana Spencer) of Tucson, Arizona, who is father to Elenas step-grandchildren and great step-grandchildren, Amber Danielle Hymore (children, Gavin and Miles), Gabriela Mariah Balmer, and Stephanie Rose Spencer; sisters, Fe Geonzon Yringco (Philippines), Ester Menguito (June Menguito - Philadelphia, PA), Rhoda Geonzon Agner (Philippines); brother Juanito Geonzon (Flor De Dios Geonzon); and sister-in-law Jane Spencer (Michael Harrah - Philadelphia, PA). Elena was preceded in death by her loving husband, Boyd Spencer (1940-2021), they were married for 43 years, her parents, Aquilino and Eulalia Bartiquin Geonzon, her brothers, Reynaldo Geonzon, Wolfrando B. Geonzon, Aquilino Geonzon, Jr., Jessie Geonzon and sister Honorata Geonzon Chua. Elena earned a Pharmacy degree at the University of St. Thomas in Manila, Philippines in 1964. She immigrated to the United States in 1970. She earned a diploma in Cytology from Thomas Jefferson University in 1970. She worked at Misericordia Hospital, Philadelphia, PA for 20 years as a Cytotechnologist, then at LabCorp (National Health Laboratory), SmithKline Beecham, and Quest Diagnostics. Elena was loved and will be missed by all those that shes left behind. She was one of a kind and left many great memories that will be cherished forever. Our hearts are broken but we take comfort in knowing she is now surrounded by light and at peace with her husband Boyd for everlasting. There will be a small intimate Memorial Service on Friday, March 11, 2022 at Old First Reformed United Church of Christ.
