Obituary

Deborah Ann Brown Obituary It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved sister, Deborah Ann Brown, in the early morning hours of December 9, 2023, at the age of 68 years. She was resting comfortably in her home on hospice care while battling a recent diagnosis of pancreatic cancer and a longer battle with Alzheimers Disease when she left us and her pain behind. Deb was preceded in death by her loving parents, Grace Marie Brown (Jacoby) and Runyan Lee Brown. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas Brown and James Brown. Deb is survived by her son, Stephen Kulp, and her daughter, Maria Kulp, whom she loved dearly and was a devoted mother to. She is also survived by her sisters, Rosemarie Corapi (Bob) and Linda McCullough (Jim); her brother Richard Brown; sisters-in-law, Dot (Tom) and Marie (Jimmy); many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews; and, Simon, her beloved cat. Deb was a graduate of Olney High School. Despite her early challenges of Bipolar Disorder and later, PTSD, Deb worked hard taking care of her two children. She worked as a CNA (certified nursing assistant) at Abington Hospital and also at Sunrise Nursing Home. Working with the elderly patients was always rewarding to her. She was a kind, compassionate and diligent caregiver. She also completed cosmetology training and worked as a hair dresser, which was something she enjoyed. She loved the Beatles and watching her Beatles Anthology DVDs. Despite her many difficulties in life, Deb strived to keep her sharp wit and sense of humor and did so during her many doctors visits and hospital stays and while interacting with her caregivers. Sisters, Rose and Linda, wish to extend a special thank you to Debs loving long-term aides, Peggy and Donna, who not only provided excellent care to her but also genuine friendship and love. Because of their dedication and caring, Deb was able to return to her home on hospice to be with her loved ones (including Simon) until her passing. We will be eternally grateful. We also would like to thank the staff at Crossroads Hospice for their excellent and compassionate care. A private memorial service will be held in the near future with close family and friends being notified at that time. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you please consider a donation in Debs memory to: Hart 2 Heart Animal Rescue, PO Box 15323, Phila., PA 19111 (www.hart2heartanimalrescue.com).
