Obituary

Darrin Paul Trate, of Royersford, Pennsylvania, passed away on October 30, 2026, at the age of 60.

Born in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, Darrin was the son of the late Joan (Hank) and Lloyd Paul Trate.

From a young age, Darrin had a natural talent for baseball and was an exceptional player throughout his high school years. His remarkable pitching abilities caught the attention of numerous schools, and he had dreams of one day playing professionally. Unfortunately, a work-related accident resulted in the loss of his pitching thumb, unexpectedly ending his promising baseball career.

Darrin had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and was an avid and skilled fisherman. He found great happiness in spending time fishing, a passion that was especially meaningful because fishing connected him to his beloved father. Darrin often spoke of how much he missed his dad, who had taught him to fish and hunt, faithfully attended Darrin’s games, and instilled in him the importance of standing up for himself and the people he loved.

Above all, Darrin will be remembered for his kind heart and willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Darrin is survived by his beloved companion of 25 years, Conny Willigmann, whom he lovingly referred to as his wife. Their many years together were filled with companionship, devotion, and shared memories.

Darrin will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his memory will live on through the stories shared, the lives he touched, and the moments spent by the water doing what he loved most.
