Obituary

Constance Bookbinder Obituary Constance Bookbinder passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 25, 2022 from natural causes. Born Constance Baker Cunningham on June 15, 1937 in Atlantic City, New Jersey, attended Granville Avenue School in Margate, then Atlantic City High School and Centenary College. Constance later moved to New York where she married Samuel Bookbinder at St. Patricks Cathedral and then on to the Philadelphia area where they owned and operated a seafood restaurant and raised a family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret Herbert Cunningham and Louis Francis Cunningham, and her husband of 44 years, Samuel Coleman Bookbinder III. A beloved mother, Constance is survived by three children Abbie Bookbinder Meyer (Mark) of Chatham Township NJ; Coley Bookbinder (Eileen) of Wayne PA and Ron Bookbinder (Jill) of New Orleans, LA. She was also the adored grandmother of her grandchildren Madison, Jack, and Clayton Meyer and Quinn and Grace Bookbinder. Constance enjoyed the company of family and friends and loved hosting them at the Jersey Shore. Her warmth, charm and sense of humor were enjoyed by all, and she will be dearly missed. Constance enjoyed life to the fullest and would want us to celebrate her life and fond memories, with a Canadian Club Manhattan cocktail, extra light on the sweet vermouth, rocks on the side. Constance was an active artist all her life and had received her degree in Art and Interior Design from Centenary College in Hackettstown NJ. She spent seventeen years working as a model at John Wanamakers Department Store in Center City Philadelphia and Wynnewood. Constance was also a supporter of childrens health in Philadelphia and served as Committee Chairman of Daisy Days, the largest volunteer fundraising effort benefiting The Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Constances honor to The Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia. The family is planning a celebration of life, at a later date. Services Family to do services at later date
