Condi Bates Obituary Life Story Condi Ackei Bates, affectionately known as "C Dog", was born on September 12, 1974 in Norristown, Pa. He was the eldest son of Karen Bates and Raymond Glasgo Jr. Condi suddenly departed this life on Sunday, February 13, 2022. Condi was a lifelong resident of Norristown, Pa., where he grew up on Cherry St. He was educated in the Norristown School District and was a 1994 graduate. After graduation, he attended Gloucester College until the death of his brother Juakeim. He later returned to school attending Kaplan University and in 2015 he received his degree and was licensed in HVAC. While obtaining his HVAC certification he made the Deans List of Honors. Condi was baptized at an early age into the Christian faith and this became his lifelong support. He was always hardworking. His first job after graduation from Kaplan University was with Oliver Heating and Cooling in HVAC for five years. He later went on to work for Davis Heating and Cooling where he worked until his death. When it came to sports, Condi was a natural. He played football, baseball and ran track, but basketball was his favorite sport. Due to his love of the game, he cultivated and sharpened his basketball skills at the Cherry Street Park. He was confident in his basketball skills, competitive and enjoyed trash talking to his opponents. He became a town legend and was well known throughout the area. He played in various basketball leagues including the Salvation Army, Oak Street and Cresmont leagues. He was an outstanding player at Norristown High. Condi enjoyed playing pool and belonged to different pool leagues. He loved to cook, especially on Sundays during football season. He was a die-hard Eagles fan and treated every Sunday like it was Superbowl Sunday. He was the grill master at family cookouts and famous for his steak and ribs. Condi was a gentle giant whose smile could light up a room. He had a loving spirit. He was kind, caring and genuine with a gift of giving that left a positive impression with whomever crossed his path. He was dependable and you could count on him for anything.from fixing appliances to babysitting. He loved hanging out with his cousins and close friends who he referred to as "Bros" , because they were like family. Condi was very well rounded. Though he had an active social life, he also was a lowkey home body who loved spending time watching movies and relaxing. Family meant everything to him. He took excellent care of his grandmother and mother. He had a close bond with his mother as a protector, best friend and a "mommas boy." He was his grandmothers shopping buddy. He would shop all day with her and never complaineven if it meant going to Philly, Upper Darby and back to Norristown. He enjoyed the time he spent with her. Condi was engaged to be married to the love of his life, Faith (Faye) Butler. Although he never had children, he loved Fayes children Shawn and Asia, like they were his own. They all loved him and were looking forward to their future together as an official family. Condi leaves to cherish his memory, Mother Karen Bates, Father Raymond Glasgo Jr., Grandmother, Connie Bates, Brothers, Raymond Glasgo III, Rasheed Glasgo; Nephew Juakeim, Niece, Yajaharia, Great Niece Ajashay; Fianc Faith Butler (Shawn and Asia); a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Friends and his 8th and Cherry Family. He was preceded in death by Brother Juakeim K. Bates, Sister Rayyesa K. Glasgo, Uncle Kevin T.
