Carolanne E. Schmoltze Obituary Carolanne Elizabeth (Dougherty) Schmoltze of Pottstown passed away on September 30, 2023. She was 73 years old. Born in Lansdowne, PA on April 4, 1950 and was the daughter of the late James Westley and Genevieve Mary (DiSantis) Dougherty. Carol was an advocate and counselor for Women Organized Against Rape (WOAR). She was a dedicated Police Communication Specialist providing her experience to the Upper Moreland Police Department, Bucks County Police Radio, and her final position with the Plymouth Township Police. In addition, she was a volunteer dispatcher for the Willow Grove Fire Department. Carol was an avid reader, house decorator, gardener, cook and Philadelphia Eagles and Flyers sports fan. Her meatballs were amazing but her vegetablesbeware because they had no chance of holding any nutritional value after they were more than thoroughly nuked. In her youth, she played 1st trumpet in the Bishop Kenrick High School marching band. She enjoyed music ( never hesitating to blast it at the highest volume) and skiing ( not quite sure how she survived those slopes ). Carol was never bashful when it came to expressing her opinion. Even with sporting events, she would often be yelling at the television providing her "two cents". All who knew her will always remember her tenacity, wit, charm, humor and grace (well maybe not graceshe was a total klutz).
