Obituary

On February 20th, 2026, Bonnie Fahringer passed away at her Manheim Pennsylvania home from cardiomegaly at the age of 79.

Bonnie was born in Lancaster, PA to Richard and Nancy Shissler in July 1946, where she grew up and attended McCaskey High School then began her nursing career

graduating St. Joseph School of Nursing.

Bonnie later moved to Hoffman Estates, IL where she raised 4 beautiful children and later moved back to Pennsylvania and continued her career in nursing. Bonnie spent the remainder of her career providing selfless, compassionate care to patients in Hospice as well as at Ephrata Community Hospital, Lancaster Community Hospital and The Heart of Lancaster where she retired from. From time-to-time Bonnie would waitress at Dutch Apple Dinner Theater where they even got her on stage to play the part of a dog in Babes In Toyland.

Besides nursing Bonnie loved to travel which she took full advantage of once she retired spending several winters in Hawaii and throughout the years many cruises and trips to tropical locations like Dominican Republic and Jamacia.

Bonnie is proceeded in death by her father Richard, her mother Nancy and husband William (Pete). She is survived by her sister Cheryl, brother Rick, nieces and nephews, her children Beth, Scott, Gail, and Jill and grandchildren.

A public memorial service will be held on March 28th, 2026 from 2-4 pm at the Manheim VFW, 149 S. Charlotte St., Manheim, PA.
