Betty Powers Obituary Betty Adelee Powers, 92, of Phoenixville, PA. passed away on Friday, June 16th at Green Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility in Malvern, PA.
Born in Bristol, Sullivan County, Tennessee, she was the wife of the late William Powers, Sr., for 50 years and daughter of the late Oscar and Maddie Brown of Rising Sun, MD.
She was happily retired and enjoyed any and all family gatherings, whether for birthdays, reunions, or just to visit family members. She loved socializing and meeting people as she had worked as a cook/waitress at Hanks Place in Kennett Square, PA. for her last place of employment and continued to visit coworkers for lunches and dinners long into her retirement years.
Betty was an avid baseball fan from little league where her sons played, to softball where her husband and sons continued to play into their older years. She enjoyed watching the Philadelphia Phillies and PGA golf on TV especially in her later years.
Betty enjoyed all things "family" and stayed in touch with everyone so as not to miss every opportunity to shower love and support on all, from adults to great-great grandchildren.
Betty is survived by her sister, Ruth Olivas of Havre de Grace, MD, her 4 children, Barbara Cain of Phoenixville, PA, Cheryl Powers of Exton, PA, Don Powers of West Chester, PA, and David Powers of Glen Mills, PA. Also survived by 17 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was predeased by 3 of her children, William Powers, Jr, Darlene Johnson, and Neil Powers.
Relatives and friends invited to her Memorial Gathering on Sunday July 16th from 12 noon to 3:00 PM at the Elks Banquet Facility 401 West Washington St., West Chester, PA. 19380
