Esperanza Jones Obituary Celebration of Life for Esperanza Moore Esperanza Moore, "Espy" as everyone called her, was born on September 22, 1959, to the late Maria Tenorio and Thomas Moore Jr. in Chicago, Illinois. She was educated in the Catholic School System and baptized as a young child as St. Michael Church. After graduating from St. Michael, she attended Southern Illinois University (SIU) at Edwardsville, Illinois. Esperanza loved spending time with her grandchildren, family, and friends. She enjoyed travelling, shopping, walking, playing bingo, and gaming. She was more like a mentor and sister to her nieces and nephews, and a second mom to her great nieces and nephews. Known for her generosity, kindness, true friendship, and her endless sense of giving is a true testament to the amazing person that she was. Everyone that knew her would be able to share some special moment or memory of Esperanza. It is these precious memories that we will cherish in our hearts forever. We have been truly blessed to have had her in our lives. On August 27, 2021, God called Esperanza home and she received her wings. She may not be physically here to hug, kiss or touch us, but her spirit and love will always be in our hearts. Esperanza the Mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, until we meet again, you are loved! Left to cherish her memory are four sons and one daughter; Rashaun (Brandy), Helen, Michael (Chelsea), Ryan (Christen), and Jovan (Brittany). Her sisters; Ellen, Patricia (Maurice), Rosa (Johnnie), Zenaida (Larry), and brother, Carlos (decd). Known to all as Grandma Boo, Esperanza will be deeply missed by her 15 grandchildren, Shauntell, Rashaun Carmelo, Brianna, Bianca, Kyle, Brooklyn, Joshlyn, Joshua, Aris, Ali, Madison, Mera, Lincoln, Jared, and Gianna. She has many nieces, nephews, a host of relatives and many special friends that will miss her dearly. Your concern has been a source of strength for each of us and we are most appreciative. It will serve to brighten our lonely days ahead. We will always remain grateful from the depth of our hearts.
