George Lui Obituary

George G. Lui, age 87, beloved husband of Joan R. (Donovan), of Flourtown,PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 8, 2019. Born March 15, 1932 in Philadelphia, PA. George was the son of the late Tseung and Kwok Ngai “Magdalene” (Fung) Lui. He attended Roman Catholic High School in Philadelphia and later graduated from Drexel University with a degree in electronics engineering. George proudly served in the United States Air Force as Airman First Class and later went on to build a successful career as a manufacturing engineer in the aerospace industry with Unisys Corporation in Paoli, PA and General Electric in New Jersey.

George will be remembered for his gentle kindness, friendly spirit and generous heart. His greatest pleasures were spending time with family and soaking in the beauty of the seashore of Ocean City, NJ. He also enjoyed being involved with church and community, lovingly tending his vegetable garden, and cheering on his favorite WWF wrestlers, roller derby, and hometown sports teams. 

George is survived by his children Joyce (David) Wuenschel of Strasburg, PA, Adriane (Bill Kammerle) Glass of Lansdale, PA, Brenda (Shawn) Jordan of Royersford, PA, and Gregory (Colleen) Lui of Collegeville, PA. He’ll also be missed by his grandchildren Christopher (Natalie), Julie, Kelsey, Jonathan, Aren, Meghan, Austin, Eric, Leah, and Hailey; great granddaughter, Elise, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Helen (Edward) Eng, and brothers, Jimmy (Mary Wong) and Jack (Margaret Wong). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Holy Redeemer Chinese Catholic Church and School 915 Vine Street, Philadelphia,PA 19107.
