Mark E McConnaughhay, 71, of Phoenixville PA, passed away on April, 16th 2024 surrounded by his family.
Mark was born on November, 12th 1952 in Annapolis MD to the late Captain James and Norma McConnaughhay. He graduated from the Severn School and received his undergraduate degree from Bucknell University. He went on to earn a Masters in Astrophysics from Rice University. After graduating from Rice University he worked as an offshore engineer for Schlumberger, he then taught petroleum engineering at LSU while earning his second Masters degree in the same field. He then worked as a Professor of Physical Sciences for 30 years at Dutchess Community College until retirement in 2017.
Mark enjoyed golf, water volleyball, bowling and traveling. During his travels he made sure to visit every zoo along the way. He was an active member of the Hyde Park Lions club for many years before moving to Phoenixville and joining the Collegeville Lions club.
Mark is survived by his wife of 42 years, Judy (Bartz), his two daughters Kelly (Brian) McConnaughhay-Kelly, and Ashley (Andrew) Addison, and 4 grandchildren Ashton, Owen, Scarlett and Adeline. Mark is further survived by his brother Jim (Gail) McConnaughhay, 10 nieces and nephews and 14 grand nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Raffeo - DiCecco Memorial Home 19 East Germantown Pike, East Norriton on Thursday April 25th from 10:00 to 11:00 AM followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM
